5000 Arizona Cooperative Entrepreneurs Initative
Our initiative will help grow local economies in Arizona based on inclusion, social justice, and sustainability through providing access to education, capital, and business support services for cooperative entrepreneurs. Our effort is to foster greater shared economic growth and to leverage the expertise of the public and private sectors in growing local economies.
Empirical evidence supports the notion that cooperatives build a better society. Major obstacles to cooperative entrepreneurs include a lack of access to knowledge, expertise, and capital to help grow their businesses. Cooperative entrepreneurs have enormous potential to build inclusive, just, and sustainable communities but to fulfill the potentials of the principles and values of the cooperative business model they need access to education, capital, and business connections.
We will launch a facility for the growth and development of cooperative enterprises in Arizona for them to have access to community capital. The facility will empower cooperatives by providing access to capital, stimulate sustainable economic development and build more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous communities in Arizona. The initiative will be a private sector innovation to catalyze public, private, and community participation and investments for a greater role of the cooperative business model premised on a partnership of private businesses, institutions, philanthropic organizations, and interfaith communities.

Local Food Development - Arizona Berry Industry
Local food system development is a popular strategy employed by many communities in the pursuit of sustainable and equitable economic growth and development. This often includes a range of economic projects including farmers markets, community supported agriculture enterprises, urban farming/agriculture projects, and food hubs.
Locally grown food creates important economic opportunities, provides health benefits and helps to reduce environmental impact. It also helps bring the community together and gives people the opportunity to make a difference. They also find peace of mind knowing exactly where their food came from and how it was grown.
The Berry Industry offers a platform for rural prosperity in Arizona by helping agricultural producers succeed. To face the many challenges and opportunities of using controlled environment technology for a nascent berry industry in Arizona, Kamson Financial will collaborate and partner with organizations, government entities, the non-profit sector, and the interfaith communities in building a vibrant and successful berry industry in Arizona. https://azubc.coop/
